Tampanensis

Once again Fractal Seed surprises us with Funky Rhythms and a reminiscence of the Goa downtempo with a magical avant-garde twist.

Psilocybe tampanensis is a very rare psychedelic mushroom, the only known specimen was collected in the wild by Stephen Pollock and Gary Lincoff, near Tampa, Florida in 1977. All spores and cultures of this species today originate from this sample only. . It has never been seen again in Florida, but a second sighting was reported from Mississippi, however no cultivable material was obtained.

The mushrooms it produces are not very large: they are 2 to 6 cm long and 3 - 5 mm thick. The spores are purple-brown in color.

Sclerotia Tampanensis are also known as truffles or Philosophical Stones. One of the biggest differences from other fungi is the ability of Psilocybe tampanensis to form sclerotia below the mushroom. This is the part that contains the highest concentrations of psilocybin.

Psilocybe tampanensis es un hongo psicodélico muy raro, el ejemplar único conocido fue recogida en la naturaleza por Stephen Pollock y Gary Lincoff, cerca de Tampa, Florida en 1977. Todas las esporas y cultivos de esta especie en la actualidad se originan de esta muestra solamente. Nunca se ha vuelto a ver en la Florida, pero un avistamiento segundo se informó de Mississippi, sin embargo, no se obtuvo material cultivable.

Las setas que produce no son muy grandes: miden de 2 a 6 cm de largo y 3 – 5 mm de grosor. Las esporas tienen un color púrpura-marrón.

Los esclerocios Tampanensis también son conocidos como las trufas o Piedras filosóficas. Una de las mayores diferencias con otros hongos es la capacidad de la tampanensis Psilocybe para formar esclerocios por debajo de la seta. Esta es la parte que contiene concentraciones más altas de psilocibina.
